Navarro Family Law Updates Relating to the Coronavirus Outbreak

Navarro Family Law, LLC is now offering legal consultations over the phone.  Call (815) 207-9570 to schedule an appointment.

In response to the developing concerns over the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19),  Navarro Family Law is closely monitoring the continuing outbreak and how it may affect the local court system for divorce, child custody, child support, and other family law related cases.

Many businesses and other locations are temporarily closing as a precaution to prevent the spread of the virus.  Several county courthouses will also be reducing much of their operations, rescheduling non-emergency matters for future dates, but remaining open to hear emergency matters.  See court closure updates below

To help assist with your concerns and questions relating to Illinois Divorce, Child Custody and other Family Law matters during these challenging times, Navarro Family Law will remain open for phone consultations and remote legal services.  Legal consultations over the phone are available by calling (815) 207-9570.  Other legal services will also be available such as the drafting and reviewing of legal documents including Marital Settlement Agreements and Child Custody Agreements, calculating child support estimations, as well as negotiating the settlement of divorce, child custody and other family law type matters.  Filing of new cases or petitions such as for divorce, child custody, visitation/parenting time, and modification of maintenance and child support payments will also be available as permitted by the county courthouses.

In the past, attorney Michael Navarro has resolved several Illinois Family Law cases through only remote contact with clients who lived out of state.  In the event of courthouse closings, Navarro Family Law will provide continued legal services while staying in touch with clients through phone, email and text message for their convenience.  Any necessary documents can be exchanged by fax, or scanned and emailed between the law firm and clients.

Although actual court dates may be delayed, Navarro Family Law will continue assisting with the filing of any petitions, motions, and new cases as allowed by the court.  This means that, if permitted, you may be able to initiate a new family law type case or petition, even if the initial court date would be delayed.  Attorney Michael Navarro will remain in communication with the Will, DuPage, and Kendall county court clerks to determine which functions are still available and how the court and filing procedures may change during this time period.

Navarro Family Law remains committed to assisting you.  Please see below for updates on court closures and other matters.
